Nancy Fazio

Nancy was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL. Her love of art was nurtured by travel with her family during her childhood. She remembers clearly her first visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City when she was thirteen years old. She saw her first painting by John Singer Sargent and was captivated by its beauty.
Serious study of art would have to wait until later, however. Nancy received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida, and several years later she earned a master’s degree in finance from the University of Denver. While living in California in the 1990’s, she started to fulfill a her dream of becoming a painter by taking art classes at the local community college and was fortunate to study with a number of gifted teachers.
Yet all of her art and travel adventures elsewhere made Nancy realize that Florida was the most beautiful place on Earth. After returning to live here in 2007, she studied drawing and painting at the Southern Atelier in Sarasota. She works primarily in charcoal and oils. Her love of the natural beauty of the Florida landscape inspires her to paint, and she hopes to share it with others through her artwork. Nancy currently lives in Ocala.
