There's nothing more exciting to me than discovering an unexpected bloom, or one about to bloom, like this pincushion protea. Attaching a macro lens and giving over to finding a unique perspective into this spindly, soft flower captures the protea at a unique moment in time, as it unfolds. An unexpected burst of fuchsia and purple bend into a yellowy, charteuse center unique to this flower and our natural world.
