"And the day came when the risk to remain light in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." (Anais Nin). Feeling ready to blossom is usually not the challenging part of my story. It's the action part. What is inspiring to me in this quote is the awareness that staying tight in a bud also involves risk and is sometimes costly. We always have choices. I'm choosing to bloom. This is a very lightweight canvas covered in black acrylic paint. Vintage papers were torn to form and fill the shape of a single, delicate flower.
