The following piece was inspired by a Milk and Honey Quote by Rupi Kaur:
“Stay strong through your pain
grow flowers from it
you have helped me
grow flowers out of mine so
bloom beautifully
dangerously
loudly
bloom softly
however you need
just bloom.”
I read this poem when I was younger and this is when I first realized the power that can come from pain. My ‘Call to Artist’ entry was inspired by the idea that beauty, courage, and strength can derive from a such tender, painful place & flowers have always reminded me of this. My hope is that this piece inspires others, especially women, to seek past the un-comfortability, whatever it may be, push past the pain, whether it be emotional or physical. Get up & find your POWER.
