We appreciate flowers for their beauty. A flower’s beauty arises from its color, shape, texture, and other aspects of its design. They are God’s works of art. In the image of their maker, artists attempt to create beauty using the same elements. In my painting, Desert Rose, I included orange and pink roses. Because of our love for them, roses are often given symbolic meaning. Orange roses symbolize enthusiasm and passion. Pink roses symbolize gratitude, grace, and joy. Images in artwork convey messages, sometimes unintended. In my painting, I only wanted the viewer to appreciate the roses’ beauty. Yet they may communicate something different, and my hope is it that it will create happiness. I expect it is one of the reasons God created flowers.
